Archeology

The undergraduate program in Archeology aims to prepare professionals committed to the production of knowledge with interdependence between different areas, considering cultural diversity as a basic principle. In addition, Bachelors of Archeology Science will be able to reflect on social practices linked to the concepts of Patrimony/Heritage and Memory; realize the significance of Archeology in the process of social inclusion and citizenship exercise; and also identify Archeology as a narrative construction inherent in the political and ideological contexts of contemporary society.

Bachelors of Archeology Science may work in universities, as researchers supported by institutions or agencies, aiming at preparation and professionalization capacity; in museums; and other organizations, by contract Archeology.

Professional profile

Archeologists are able to develop their activities in any space which requires intervention, by providing technical services and specialized consulting, directly and indirectly linked to the protection, documentation, conservation, research and dissemination of human material heritage, in any institution. In addition, you may work in educational activities, carried out mainly in communities where archeological places are located and public or private schools.
